Culture and welfare in the urban suburbs of Bologna: local community and creative actors together to recover abandoned buildings
The project ‘INstabile’ is born in 2015 with the ambition to recover from abandonment an old Civic Center, reclaiming the necessity to improve the social, cultural and spatial quality of a neighborhood in a peripheral area of the city of Bologna, Italy. The goal was to create a ‘Community and creative hub’ or a place where both the community of neighbors and the community of the new cultural workers in the creative field can have a common house where to exchange knowledges and sharing sources.
The initiative wants to act as a recover agent: reclaiming and recovering a building as a ‘common place’ where neighbors together with NGO’s and local creative actors can self-produce social, cultural and welfare services.
