TESTING GROUNDS – CITIZENS CENTRED AND DATA DRIVEN URBAN DEVELOPMENT

Skopje, 6-8 june 2018

The main goal of the workshop is to demonstrate the potential of employing user or citizen centred and data driven approach to urban development and urban design of complex developments on the case of Skopje, including the new clinical centre at the city periphery, and the benefit of use of digital tools and data driven research for the same purpose.

The partners and UKIM students, through the example of the Torino Atlas develped by Urban Center Metropolitano, are invited to reflect upon the methodologies that can be applied to the translation of raw data into understendable images. Maps and infographics are analysed as powerful tools providing the citizens with more means to understand the city transformation, and policy-makers with a reliable decision tool.

Second and third lecture and workshop | june 7th, 9.30-17.00 @UKIM – Faculty of Architecture, University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius

The second and third EUCANET lectures provide insights on how user-centred approaches in different contexts (healthcare, environmental policies) can improve the effectiveness of the design. The afternoon workshop aims at opening a reflection on how the design-process should be based on the users needs and open to different outcomes.
